My Projects
ScripTea
I built a podcast player that helps languages learners practice their listening skills and improve their vocabulary. The app generates a machine-transcription of the audio as the user is listening and the user can request an automated translation of any paragraph, as well as look up individual words in the built-in dictionary without leaving the app.
Tech stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, MobX, PouchDB, CouchDB.
Fatype
The client is a small company that designs typefaces and sells licenses on their website.
I took over the maintenance of an existing website, built an interactive typeface tester where visitors can try out how a typeface looks in various styles, implemented a new website design, and various features related to presentation, pricing, discounts, checkout, invoicing, content management and analytics.
Tech stack: Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Stimulus, Phlex, Heroku.
Donup
Early-stage start-up with an aim to give lesser known charities access to funding. I built a Ruby on Rails app where donors can set up a one-off or recurring donations and split the payment across multiple charities and projects.
